When I found my home I was pleased with the fact that it was an end-unit townhome with ample natural light. I liked the fact that it was tree-lined, which would provide both privacy and shade during the summer. I also was drawn in by the beautiful hardwood floors and simple charm. I love the fact that the home is much larger than it appears from the outside. The finished half-basement provides additional living space and the attic provides never-ending storage. We love just eating ice-cream on the front porch and chatting with neighbors or grilling and eating on the back patio and enjoying the garden.

The fact that our home is surrounded by trees has helped tremendously with utility costs. When the sun is beating down on neighboring homes ours remains cool. We usually don't need to turn on the air conditioning until mid-summer. Because we use natural gas, our heating costs are also very reasonable. We use BGE for gas and electric. Our BGE monthly BGE bill runs from $160-$200 per month. Our water bill is usually $30 per month.

Life truly is great in 21228! We love the schools, community, restaurants and how walkable Catonsville is. Our home is close to interstates 95 and 695 and a reasonable commute to either D.C., Columbia or Baltimore. Paradise is a warm, friendly community within Catonsville that has its own unique social events and festivals such as our hopping Fall Festival.
Our inviting street of Enjay comprises a true neighborhood where people know and are friends with their neighbors. The street hosts community yard sales, block parties, and an amazing Halloween extravaganza. Catonsville has an fantastic sense of community that's hard to find elsewhere. Some of our favorite restaurants are Indian Delight, Umami and the Black Kettle just a few blocks from our house.
Did you know that Catonsville even has a cooperative food market? When not getting organic, locally-sourced produce at the food coop we love to hit the local Giant, Aldi's or one of our ethnic grocery stores such as HMart. We moved to Catonsville for the schools, sense of community and architecture.
